Windfeeder

In Europe threemast schoonerbrigs were mostly used in the trade between the countries of the Mediterranean and those of the Baltic. They transported all kind of products, mostly fruit, wine but also grain.
The voyage was hazardless: no wind in the Mediterranean till suddenly a squall came up. In the Strait of Gibraltar stormy east or west wind. Than along the Portuguese and north Spanish coast into the Bay of Biscay, dangerous for the westerly gales combined with an easterly current. Thereafter the Channel and the North Sea, round Denmark and in the end the easier Baltic sea.
The threemast schoonerbrigs were mostly fast ships. In the late nineteenth century, the ships grew bigger and were also used in the transatlantic trade.

Windfeeder is a coastal sailing freighter, but can also be used in the Pacific to trade between the islands. Because of the various wind conditions the lines of the ship are rather deep and sharp. It is also provided with a daggerboard.
In the V-bottom there will be enough space for tanks and on the side for ballast tanks. The hold can be used for pallet cargo. On the poop, you will find captain’s quarters and a wheelhouse.
